Today I noticed the tulips were up. It was a beautiful warm day and I worked in the garden in short sleeves. Sophie played in the hose as we watered in the greenhouse. It felt like June! Last fall I started onions in the greenhouse. I waited all winter, and they never came up. All my onion seed came up in my tunnels, so I gave up in the greenhouse and planted peas a few weeks ago. Well, today I went out to water, because that seemed like a good excuse to be outside on such a nice day and behold...they are both up. Onions and peas are not a compliment together in the garden according to companion planting charts, but I don't have the heart to pull either one up, so well see what happens.
I planted my tomatoes today and put them under grow lights. I planned to do peppers, eggplant, celery, Chinese cabbage, and some flowers too, but I ran out of soil mix for my soil cuber. Tomorrow I will get more compost and make for to finish the job.
